Two women in their 20s were arrested at Tysons Corner Center Tuesday night and now face a dozen criminal charges apiece.

Police say the women, both 27 and from California, used a stolen credit card to buy merchandise and then returned it to a store in the mall for credit to their personal accounts. Police were called and followed the women as they ran out of the store, according to Fairfax County Police.

“The officers followed and arrested both women,” FCPD said in a crime report. The pair “were found to have numerous stolen credit cards in their possession” and “charged with eight counts of credit card theft, two counts of defrauding a merchant, receiving goods from credit card, and identity fraud.”

Vienna and Fairfax County Police have arrested two teen boys and charged them with a series of crimes, including setting fire to the Marco Polo restaurant.

One of the teens is a 14-year-old Vienna resident; the other is a 13-year-old Reston resident, according to police.

The boys are being charged with both felony and misdemeanor crimes, including arson. Police say other charges are being filed in relation to a Nov. 4 vandalism of two historic government-owned buildings near Lahey Lost Valley Park, which caused several thousand dollars in damage.

The Oct. 14 fire destroyed most of the Marco Polo building, which had been vacant. There were no injuries. The site is planned to be redeveloped as a retail and townhouse complex.

The teens are also charged with the vandalism of several buses in the rear parking lot of the restaurant on Sept. 9.

The pair is being held in the Fairfax County Juvenile Detention Center.

A Great Falls man has been arrested and charged in yesterday’s robbery of the Wells Fargo Bank near the Old Brogue Irish Pub.

Police throughout Fairfax County were told to be on the lookout for the suspect after he demanded and received money from a teller and then demanded the keys to her SUV. Police officers, sheriff’s deputies, detectives, SWAT team members and two police helicopters helped in the search for the suspect, who was later arrested and identified as 60-year-old Christopher Lapp.

BANK ROBBERY: 750 Walker Road (Wells Fargo Bank), 11/13/18, 11:39a.m. A man entered the bank carrying a handgun and handed the teller a note and a bag, demanding money.  After the teller gave the suspect money, he walked out of the bank and followed another customer to her car and told her to give him the keys to her SUV.   She gave him the keys and the man then drove away towards the back of the shopping center.  Her abandoned car was recovered nearby a short time later.  Witnesses described the suspect as approximately, 5’07” and wearing a beige mask, black baseball cap, sunglasses, a beige jacket, and dark pants with two blue or purple stripes down the sides. A trio of young men from Falls Church were arrested in Tysons Sunday after allegedly leading police on a foot chase.

Fairfax County Police say the men stole items from the Macy’s department store at Tysons Corner Center mall by first stacking the merchandise by the door and then, after gathering enough stuff, running off with it. But security guards noticed the scheme in progress and called police, and officers arrived just as the men were trying to make their getaway with the stolen goods, according to FCPD.

After a foot pursuit, all three were arrested, police said. They’re being charged with grand larceny.

1961 Chain Bridge Rd (Macys), 11/11/18, 4:12 p.m. Officers were notified by Macy’s loss prevention of three men putting merchandise by the door to steal. Officers arrived at the store as the men were running out with the stolen merchandise. They were caught within minutes after a short foot pursuit. Derlin Carcamo Alvarez, 21, Jorge Melendez Gonzalez, 20, and Wilson Mondrago Ochoa, 23, all of Falls Church, were charged with Grand Larceny.

A D.C. man was arrested Wednesday morning after an altercation at the Tysons Corner Metro station and a brief police chase.

Fairfax County Police say 31-year-old Jaron Ulmer was getting off a train at the station just before 7 a.m. when he turned around and accused a man of following him. Ulmer then punched the man several times, according to police.

“Ulmer ran away but was arrested after a short foot pursuit by responding police officers,” said an FCPD crime report. “Ulmer was charged with malicious wounding, public intoxication and obstruction of justice.”

A malicious wounding charge suggests the victim’s injuries were serious enough to make the crime a felony, as opposed to a less severe assault charge.

Fairfax County Police arrested a 20-year-old Maryland man early Saturday morning on charges of trying to hit an officer.

The incident started when police were called to the 6800 block of Dillon Avenue in McLean just after midnight for a report of a loud party.

“When officers walked towards the backyard, a man, Michael Wade, 20, of Maryland, became belligerent and tried to hit our officer,” FCPD said in a crime report. “When officers searched him, alcohol was discovered. Wade was arrested and charged with attempted assault on a law enforcement officer and underage possession of alcohol.”

A Maryland man was arrested Sunday and charged with trying to rob the CVS Pharmacy on Leesburg Pike (Route 7) in Tysons.

Fairfax County Police say 34-year-old Mark Connor “walked into the CVS, went behind the counter and told an employee he was there to rob him.” The incident happened shortly before 3 p.m.

“Officers arrived and placed Connor under arrest for robbery, false identification to law enforcement and felony possession of narcotics,” FCPD said in a crime report.
