Patsy’s American is ready and open for business, but Randy’s Prime Seafood and Steaks needs a little more time.

The pair of restaurants, along with the recently opened Best Buns, are part of a trifecta of new eateries from Great American Restaurants (GAR) at 8051 Leesburg Pike.

Staff at Patsy’s American said that Randy’s is scheudled to open sometime in mid-July, but no definitive date has been established.

Randy’s Prime Seafood and Steaks is set to include seafood towers, wagyu steaks and American wines, according to Northern Virginia Magazine.

The restaurants are named after Randy and Patsy Norton, a husband-and-wife restaurant team who were two of the founders of GAR in 1976. Today, GAR is a regional enterprise with dozens of restaurants, including Coastal Flats in Tysons Corner Center.

(Updated at 11:40 a.m.) A reported power outage that hit downtown Falls Church this morning (June 18) is now resolved.

As of 9:05 a.m., Dominion reported that the power outage was affecting 224 customers on the northwestern side of the intersection of Route 7  and N. Washington Street (Route 29). By 11:40 a.m., the power outage was no longer listed on the company’s map of reported power outages.

The City of Falls Church tweeted earlier this morning that the power outage affected City Hall and the community center, which are both open, and the Mary Riley Styles Public Library, which had power restored around 10:15 a.m.

The cause of the power outage is unknown at this time.

Canadian clothing brand Roots plans to open in Tysons Corner Center later this year.

A sign outside the store says that Roots will arrive in October in the former Aldo space on the second level by the Victoria’s Secret.

The company sells women’s, men’s and kids’ clothing, with a focus on leisure wear and leather goods branded with the beaver logo.

Started in Toronto in 1973, Roots now has more than 120 stores across North America, according to its website.

For shoppers who can’t wait until October, Roots has stores in the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City and Georgetown.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for Fairfax County.

The watch is in effect until 11 p.m. today (Monday) and also covers several surrounding localities across Northern Virginia.

The National Weather Service issued the alert around 4:05 p.m.

• Vienna Stories Book Talk — 7:30 p.m. at the Vienna Community Center (120 Cherry Street SE) — Marie Kisner, a former public information officer for the Town of Vienna, collected newspaper stories about Vienna into a new book called “Vienna Stories 1950-2000.” Kisner is also planning a book signing at the Freeman Store on Saturday, June 22, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Friday (June 21)

• Echosmith at Tysons Corner Center — 3:30-9:30 p.m. at Tysons Corner Center (1961 Chain Bridge Road) — HOT 99.5 and Tysons Corner Center are hosting a free concert with the band Echosmith. The show is scheduled to start for 6:30 p.m. but attendees are encouraged early to grab a seat.

Saturday (June 22)

• Daylily Walking Tour — 10:15-11:15 a.m. at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens (9750 Meadowlark Gardens Court) — The Northern Virginia Daylily Society President Janice Kennedy will lead a walking tour through the gardens showing the daylily collection including a few award-winning varieties. The tour is free and those participating in the tour will have free admission.
• Georgia Peach Truck — 12 p.m. at Merrifield Garden Center (8132 Lee Highway) — The Georgia Peach Truck is planning to roll into Merrifield at noon on Saturday with beaches brought up from Georgia available to be purchased by the box. One 23-25 pound box is $45.

Sunday (June 23)

• Providence Democrats Unity and Summer Solstice Celebration — 4-7 p.m. at Nouvelle Apartments (7911 Westpark Drive) — Following a crowded Democratic primary that saw Dalia Palchik voted as the Democratic nominee for the vacant Providence District Board of Supervisors seat, Providence District Democrats are hosting a buffet and silent auction fundraiser with the nominees and the other candidates. Attendees are encouraged to RSVP early.

As work continues on the Jones Branch Connector project, drivers can expect nightly closures on and around the bridge this week.

The ramps from the eastbound Dulles Toll Road and the eastbound Dulles Airport Access Road to southbound I-495 are scheduled to be closed from 10 p.m.-4 a.m. from today (Monday) to Friday (June 21), according to VDOT.

VDOT said drivers can take the following detours:

• eastbound Dulles Toll Road to southbound I-495: Eastbound Dulles Toll Road and southbound Route 123 (Exit 19A) back to the southbound I-495
• eastbound Dulles Airport Access Road to southbound I-495: Northbound I-495 and westbound Route 193 (Exit 44) back to the southbound I-495
• eastbound Dulles Toll Road traffic will still be able to access the southbound 495 Express Lanes

Additionally, Scotts Crossing Road closures between Jones Branch Drive and the I-495 Express Lanes will be closed during those times as well.

The closure will let workers continue work on the bridge, which is part of the $60 million project to relieve traffic along Route 123 at the I-495 interchange.

Pedestrians can expect the Jones Branch Connector sidewalk to open mid- to late summer.

The entire project is slated to finish this fall.

Fairfax County police are investigating a man’s drowning in a pool in McLean on Saturday (June 15).

Police responded to a report of a drowning and found 31-year-old Justin Hollman, of Chesapeake, in a residential pool around 3 p.m. in the 1100 block of Pine Hill Road, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.

“It is unknown how long he had been in the pool and the circumstances surrounding his drowning are still under investigation,” according to the press release.

Police pulled Hollman from the pool, and rescue staff pronounced Hollman dead at the scene. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is working to determine the cause of Hollman’s death.

(Updated at 11:45 a.m.) The previously closed lanes of Old Dominion Drive and Beverly Road just reopened after a car crash in downtown McLean this morning.

The Arlington County Fire Department dispatched firefighters to the crash at 6832 Old Dominion Drive shortly before 10 a.m. to help Fairfax County rescue personnel.

Police had closed the westbound lanes of Old Dominion Drive and soundbound lanes of Beverly Road, and around 11 a.m., traffic was backed up on both of those roads.

Two cars — a McHale Landscape Design Inc. truck with a trailer and a Honda Odyssey — were involved in the crash, police told Tysons Reporter. As of 11:30 a.m., the truck, trailer and car have been moved.

One woman was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, police said.
