A drunk man allegedly touched a 15-year-old girl inappropriately and then “became belligerent” with police at the Westwood Country Club in Vienna.
The incident happened around 10:20 p.m. on Saturday, January 5.
“A citizen reported that his 15-year-old daughter was attending a party when she was touched inappropriately by a man,” Vienna police said in a crime report. “Officers located that man, and upon their interaction with him detected signs of impairment. The man would not follow the officers’ directions and became belligerent with them when he was placed under arrest.”
The man, a 21-year-old Stafford resident, was jailed and charged with Simple Assault and Drunk in Public.

A 24-year-old Fairfax man is facing a litany of charges, including assault on law enforcement, after an incident in the Falls Church area over the weekend.
Police say Victor Vanegas was “causing a disturbance and breaking items” at an address near George Mason High School when police responded and an officer attempted to place him under arrest.
Vanegas “then assaulted the officer and tried to run away,” but was soon thereafter caught and taken into custody.

There’s a handful of design options for the new Vienna police station, but all of the plans being considered by town leaders will double the size of the existing building.
The Vienna Town Council plans to review three proposals for the project from Dewberry Architects Inc. at a meeting on Monday (Jan. 14).
The current station is 11,800 square-feet, while all of the new designs are over 28,400 square feet.
All of the designs extend the station southwest along Locust Street away from Center Street. In addition to new rooms for roll call, interviews,and other daily police-work uses, the new station designs feature a large “community room” and public lobby.
Two of the designs are very similar, both featuring the same distinctive curved meeting room at the Center Street end of the building, but with different parking layouts at the far side of the station.
Price estimates for the project range from $13 million to $15 million, with an estimated construction start date in fall 2020.
The project’s approval was not without some controversy, however. At a Town Council meeting earlier this week, Councilmember Pasha Majdi opposed awarding a contract for project management, saying there were better projects that could be funded instead.
After a series of noise complaints, Bey Lounge’s live-entertainment permits could once again be on the chopping block.
Bey Lounge, a bar and restaurant at 303 Mill Street with Lebanese cuisine, hookahs, and live music, currently has four pending noise violation charges for incidents across the last several months. Town Attorney Steve Briglia said the most recent violation was this past Saturday (Jan. 5) night.
Briglia said the first case is scheduled to go to court this Monday (Jan. 14), with more court appearances planned for early February.
If the lounge is found guilty of the noise violations, Briglia said his office is planning to present a motion to revoke the site’s conditional use permit to the Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA).
“It’s clearly audible,” said Briglia. “Officers are able to hear it on [nearby] streets and across residential lines.”
This isn’t the first time the lounge has gotten into trouble over noise levels. In 2017, the BZA voted unanimously to renew Bey Lounge’s conditional-use permit for live entertainment but required that between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, the noise cannot exceed 51 decibels at the property line.
“We did that once before and there had been some better behavior by Bey Lounge,” said Briglia. “But I think things have changed.”
Discussion at the Vienna Town Council meeting on Monday (Jan. 7) showed that many in the city’s leadership are fed up with the noise violations.
“I fully support revoking the permit,” said Councilmember Pasha Majdi. “It’s not strike three, it’s strike fifteen.”

A couple called Vienna police New Year’s Day after a dispute at a local urgent care center.
The incident happened shortly after 1 p.m. at the Inova Urgent Care center at 180 Maple Avenue W. Police were called after a man was refused entry to his wife’s exam room by urgent care staff, citing company policy.
“The man and his wife left the facility and called the police,” the Vienna Police Department said in its weekly crime report. “Officers summoned EMS personnel who evaluated the wife but found she was not in need of any further treatment.”
Reached for comment, an Inova spokeswoman told Tysons Reporter that family members are allowed in exam rooms “at the discretion of the patient.”
“In compliance with HIPAA laws, Inova cannot comment on specific patient matters,” said Iova’s Tracy Connell. “At the discretion of the patient, family members may accompany patients in examination rooms at our Urgent Care Centers.”

Man May Have Filmed Dressing Rooms in Tysons — The man arrested for secretly filming a teenager in a dressing room at Fair Oaks Mall is believed to have also filmed dressing rooms at Tysons Corner Center between Dec. 15-24, according to Fairfax County Police. McLean Commander Wants More Cops — The McLean District police station “has 138 sworn officers, at least 11 of whom must be on patrol duty during day shifts and at least nine on midnight shifts. Four New York residents were arrested in the parking lot outside the Tysons Corner Center mall on New Year’s Day on charges related to credit card theft.
According to Fairfax County Police, the department’s “Christmas Anti-Theft Team” was working on a shoplifting case when they were notified by a loss prevention officer at the mall of possible credit card fraud.
“The Loss Prevention Officer indicated he saw a woman in this store who was recently seen using fraudulent credit cards in a Maryland store,” police said in a crime report. “Our officers began watching her while other officers made contact with the victim who lives in California. While watching the woman, other suspects were developed.”
Police arrested two men and two women were arrested outside of the mall at their car. Police allege over $10,000 in fraudulently purchased merchandise was discovered inside.

“Han Lin, 34, of New York was charged with three counts of credit card theft, two counts of credit card fraud, and identity fraud. Chaojun Shao, 34, of New York, was charged with three counts of credit card theft, two counts of credit card fraud, receiving stolen goods and identity fraud. Shousheng Wang, 33, of New York, was charged with two counts of credit card theft and credit card fraud. Xiabing Lin, 34, of New York, was charged with [conspiracy] to commit credit card fraud. Additional charges are pending.”

An intoxicated man led officers on a car chase in Tysons Tuesday afternoon — New Year’s Day — according to Fairfax County Police.
The man, 32-year-old Vijay Lindsay of Orange, Virginia, is now facing a number of charges after police say he was driving erratically and tried to flee from a traffic stop. It’s his third DUI charge in five years, according to a crime report.
