A matcha-focused ice cream and drink cafe will soon arrive in Tysons Corner Center.
The mall’s website says that Matcha Cafe Maiko is “coming soon” to a kiosk on the second level by the door leading to The Plaza.
Matcha Cafe Maiko first opened in Hawaii and has since expanded to stores in five more states, including Virginia, according to its website.
The online menu features shaved ice, soft serve, lattes, teas, floats, sweet red bean soup and parfaits.
Can’t wait until it opens in Tysons? The closest — and only — store in Virginia is in Centreville at 5947 Centreville Crest Lane.

The last in a trifecta of new eateries from Great American Restaurants plans to open next week.
Randy’s Prime Seafood and Steaks recently announced on Facebook that it will start serving at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday (July 30). The restaurant is currently taking reservations.
The dinner menu features a raw bar, wagyu steaks and a variety of seafood. The restaurant’s decor includes five “special paintings” by Jack Gable from Maine, according to Randy’s website.
The two other restaurants at 8051 Leesburg Pike — Patsy’s American and Best Buns — opened earlier this year.
The restaurants are named after Randy and Patsy Norton, a husband-and-wife restaurant team who were two of the founders of Great American Restaurants in 1976.
The spot of a former Indian eatery is set to become home to a new restaurant.
A pending license to serve wine and beer indicates that The Union will come to 1379 Beverly Road. The location used to be home to 7 Spice Fine Indian Cuisine and Cafe Taj, according to Yelp.
Nearby, another restaurant — Aracosia — is coming to downtown McLean as well.

A new Afghan restaurant is nearing the final steps before it opens in downtown McLean.
Northern Virginia Magazine reported that the owner behind Bistro Aracosia in D.C. and Afghan Bistro in Springfield was aiming to open a McLean restaurant in March.
While March came and went a few months ago, a pending wine and beer license from earlier in July indicates that Aracosia — a spin-off of the D.C. spot — still plans to come to 1381 Beverly Road.
Owner Omar Masroor told Tysons Reporter that the restaurant is waiting for its liquor license permit before opening — tentatively the second week of September.
“It’s a great neighborhood,” Masroor said, adding that someone reached out to him about the 4,000 square feet in McLean, which will seat roughly 100 diners.
At first, Masroor said that he was skeptical about opening another restaurant so close to the D.C. location, but then he discovered that the McLean and Tysons residents he talked to don’t venture into D.C. to eat, “even though they are a 15-, 20-minute drive from each other.”
The menu will be “similar” to the D.C. one, like using the same spices, but Masroor said that the McLean spot will feature more vegan options and “crazy vegetarian dishes.”

A Mediterranian restaurant in McLean is still facing nearly a full year of delays.
Archontiko has the ambitious concept of bringing fresh, modern Greek cuisine to McLean at an affordable price. The restaurant replaces Evo Bistro, also a Mediterranean restaurant, at 1313 Old Chain Bridge Road.
But while the restaurant had originally aimed to open last November, owner Theodoros “Ted” Theodorou said the restaurant is now looking at an opening sometime in August.
Theodorou said that much of the work inside is completed, but they still need to pass a few final inspections before they can open.
Updated at 11:10 a.m. 7/16/19 — Agora said in a press release that the restaurant opens today (Tuesday).
Earlier: After a long series of delays, Mediterranean restaurant Agora plans to hold a grand opening in Tysons in about two weeks.
The restaurant is set to have a grand opening on Thursday, July 25, from 7-9 p.m.
Located at the Nouvelle (7911 Westpark Drive), the 4,000-square-foot, split-level eatery will feature Turkish decor and a custom brick oven. The tapas-style menu will feature Turkish, Lebanese and Greek flavors, according to the restaurant’s website.
Agora also has a restaurant in D.C.
Cong Wang really likes bubble tea, and he opened his new Gem Tea at 155 W. Maple Avenue to share that passion with more people.
One of the big things Wang says drives people away from bubble tea is the idea of inflexibility. At Gem Tea, Wang says customers can feel free to adjust the tea as they like, offering non-dairy milk options and a wide variety of fruit flavors.
If enough people request something, Wang said he’s open to adding things to the menu. For instance, yesterday someone came in asking for a protein powder to be added to his tea, so Wang is looking into how to make that work.
The restaurant is open seven days a week, opening at 11 a.m. and closing between 8-9 p.m. The quick-service restaurant had a soft opening on May 16, but held its grand opening on June 1.
Wang said Gem Tea isn’t part of a chain. He’s from Vienna and just wanted to open a tea place in his neighborhood.
Tysons Corner Center just welcomed its second poke place, adding to the veg-friendly eatery options in the mall.
Poki DC debuted in the food court on the third level over the weekend and is letting diners buy one regular bowl with two proteins and get a second one for free until Friday (June 21) to celebrate the opening.
Inspired by Hawaiian cuisine, the D.C.-based eatery offers build-your-own bowls and mochi.
Down on the first level, the mall has another poke place — Pokéworks, which serves up poke burritos, bowls and salads.

Patsy’s American is ready and open for business, but Randy’s Prime Seafood and Steaks needs a little more time.
The pair of restaurants, along with the recently opened Best Buns, are part of a trifecta of new eateries from Great American Restaurants (GAR) at 8051 Leesburg Pike.
Staff at Patsy’s American said that Randy’s is scheudled to open sometime in mid-July, but no definitive date has been established.
Randy’s Prime Seafood and Steaks is set to include seafood towers, wagyu steaks and American wines, according to Northern Virginia Magazine.
The restaurants are named after Randy and Patsy Norton, a husband-and-wife restaurant team who were two of the founders of GAR in 1976. Today, GAR is a regional enterprise with dozens of restaurants, including Coastal Flats in Tysons Corner Center.
