Golden Goose is planning to bring its high-end sneakers and clothing to Tysons Galleria.

The Italian brand sells sneakers for men, women and kids, along with leather jackets, t-shirts, knitwear and dresses for adults. Inspired by American basketball and ’80s culture, the Ball Star sneakers are made of goatskin and feature a star on the side ($400-$600). Meanwhile, the Stardan ones are based on 90s basketball shoes ($500-$700).

Fairfax County permits indicate that Golden Goose is looking to arrive at Tysons Galleria (2001 International Drive). Tysons Reporter obtained an email by a Golden Goose employee confirming plans are underway for the Tysons store.

“The focus for us is on the Galleria continuing to be the point-of-entry venue for relevant brands opening in the D.C. area,” Tysons Galleria said in a statement through a spokesperson.

Golden Goose’s website list locations across the U.S., from San Francisco to Dallas to New York City. No stores are currently listed in the D.C. area.

A currently vacant spot along Maple Avenue will soon be selling alcohol instead of armoires.

Virginia ABC is planning to relocate in the Town of Vienna to move into the former home of Posh! (419B Maple Ave. E.) in the Maple Avenue Shopping Center.

The relocation will let ABC expand, Dawn Eischen, a Virginia ABC spokesperson, told Tysons Reporter.

“This location will allow us to provide a wider selection of products, meet market demands and better serve our customers,” Eischen said.

Eischen said that the current store (436 Maple Ave. E.) is 4,600 square feet, while the former Posh! space is 6,000 square feet.

Posh!, a furniture retailer, left its longtime Maple Avenue home early last year, with the owner partially blaming traffic, parking and development woes. The store moved to 200 Dominion Road NE late last year.

The prominent storefront was one of several vacant spaces that the Town of Vienna has been working to fill with tenants, along with new efforts to help support small businesses that are already in the town.

It will still be a few months before shoppers can step foot in the space.

“Virginia ABC is in the permitting phase and we expect to open the new location in May or June,” Eischen said.

Luggage Plus isn’t currently open in Tysons Corner Center, but the store plans to soon return to the mall.

The store was located in a spot on the first level near Nordstrom. When Tysons Reporter stopped by earlier this week, the space was empty and locked up.

An employee at the Luggage Plus store in the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City said that the store closed to move to a different spot in the Tysons mall. The employee said shoppers can expect the new store to open in a few weeks.

A spokesperson for the mall confirmed to Tysons Reporter that the mall is working with Luggage Plus to finalize an alternate, permanent location, saying that the former space was a temporary lease.

So far this year, Tysons Corner Center seems to have new changes every week — from stores and restaurants closing to announcements of newcomers.

Beeboy, a plush toy company that had just arrived in the mall, now appears to be closed for good. The store occupied the former spot of candy store Sugarfina on the first level by Macy’s. The store was open in January, but last week, the windows were covered and the sign was taken down.

Meanwhile, All Star Sports has moved from the second level near Barnes and Noble to the first level across from BrandBox.

BrandBox has a new “marketplace” that sells men’s and women’s clothing brands that are found online. According to a sign outside the store, the brands include Rhone, Jared Lang, Stutterheim, Welden and Faherty.

The Creative Collective POPUP that was adjacent to BrandBox during the holidays is now back in the mall.

The pop-up store is currently featuring Haus of Jung, which makes leather handbags, along with four other artisans and small businesses, according to an Instagram post. Haus of Jung plans to be in the space for two weeks, the post said.
