The Fairfax County Police Department is seeking the public’s help to identify a suspect linked to Tysons Corner Center fraud.
Police said they are looking for the “man suspected of stealing a credit card and making fraudulent purchases at Tysons Corner Center earlier this month.
Anyone who has information is asked to call Master Police Officer Mergler at 703-556-7750, send an email to [email protected] or submit an anonymous tip.

Fairfax County police arrested a man in connection with fraud at the Louis Vuitton store in Tysons Galleria last month.
On June 2, Julian Kendrick allegedly picked up an online order totaling $9,910 that was linked to a driver’s license from Georgia with a different name, according to a court document.
“The store employees thought that the transaction was suspicious and requested police assistance, however, the employees did allow Kendrick to complete the transaction and receive the merchandise,” police said in the document.
Police said they found Kendrick in his car and he gave them a driver’s license from Michigan with his name to police, who then searched the car and found fraudulent identification, including two credit cards and the driver’s license from Georgia.
Police arrested Kendrick, charging him with false pretenses and for the fraudulent credit card.
Updated at 8:50 a.m. — The roads have reopened.
Earlier: Fairfax County police said that two roads in McLean are closed due to a tree blocking each one.
Police said this evening (Wednesday) that 977 Balls Hill Road and Swinks Mill Road at Gelston Circle are the two closures in the McLean District. More than a dozen roads are affected across the county after a storm earlier today.
Police said that the list will be updated.

Fairfax County police are investigating a burglary at Iron Chef House in the Mosaic District.
“Someone broke into the business and stole cash and electronics,” according to the police report.
The incident occurred between 3-4 a.m. last Wednesday (July 10) at 2985 District Avenue.

Vienna police arrested a 29-year-old man who allegedly hit a boy at Foster’s Grille.
The incident occurred at noon on Sunday (July 7) at the restaurant’s Vienna location (138 W. Maple Avenue).
From the police report:
A citizen was in Foster’s Grill with her juvenile son. A man was seated at the bar, randomly yelling and making the other customers uncomfortable. At one point, the man got up, went behind the juvenile, and struck him on the back. The man then left the restaurant.
Officers located the man in the area and found him to be incoherent. The man became irate with the officers, and it was determined that he may be a danger to himself or others.
Police arrested the man, who is a resident of Cornflower Court in Vienna, on an Emergency Custody Order and took him to a nearby medical facility for an evaluation.
Police told the mom about the warrant process if she wants to pursue charges against the man for misdemeanor assault on her son.
Around 12:40 p.m. while police were investigating the alleged assault, a different man came up to the boy and asked about the police activity, according to the report.
“The man was advised by officers to continue on his way,” police said, adding that the man walked through the middle of the investigation. “At one point, the man approached the juvenile and made a statement that concerned the juvenile.”
Police said that the man eventually left the area.
In a separate incident, Vienna police are looking for the man who allegedly exposed himself in Patrick Henry Library last month.
The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. on June 27. Police said a woman reported that “she was in the library when an unknown man exposed himself in front of her.”
The man then left the library (101 E. Maple Avenue), and police were not able to find him, according to the police report.

(Updated at 10:50 a.m.) A fallen tree briefly closed Georgetown Pike in McLean this morning.
The Fairfax County Police Department tweeted at 10:33 a.m. about the closure, which was on Georgetown Pike between Boyle Lane and Potomac River Road.
Then at 10:48 a.m., police tweeted that Georgetown Pike had reopened.

The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors mostly expressed support for implementing body worn cameras for the county’s police department following presentations about the results from a six-month-long pilot program.
Chief of Police Edwin Roessler Jr., Richard Bennett from American University and Deputy County Executive David Rohrer presented the results of the study to the county board during yesterday’s Public Safety Committee meeting.
The results of the study arrived almost a year after the pilot program, which was rolled out in the Mason, Mount Vernon and Reston district stations from March-September 2018, ended.
Bennett summarized the 119-page report by researchers at American University, which yielded mixed — yet generally positive — results.
Funded by the Koch Foundation and American University, the study randomly assigned half of the police officers in the three districts to body worn cameras and collected data from surveys, focus groups and ridealongs from both officers with and without the cameras.
While officers who wore the cameras during the pilot slightly increased their level of interest in the cameras by the end of the pilot, Bennett said that most officers said in focus groups and surveys that the cameras would not change how they work or how civilians’ react.
However, Bennett noted that people had slightly fewer complaints against the officers who wore the cameras, than ones who did not.
During the presentations, the police chief made a pitch for the county to implement the program. “I’m confident that [the county] should approve the program,” Roessler told the committee. “The IT infrastructure can be built up at the other facilities.”
The nearly $30 million proposed program would issue 1,210 body-worn cameras that would be phased in over three years with a five-year contract for equipment, licensing and storage. Body worn cameras would come to the McLean District during the second year of the program, according to the timeframe in the presentation.
About $10 million would be needed for contract costs, while $20 million would go toward staffing, with new positions needed at the police department, Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney and the Department of Information Technology.
While some of the supervisors raised concerns about if the high cost outweighed the proposed program’s benefits, most of the supervisors expressed support for implementation.
Fairfax County police arrested a 30-year-man at a McDonald’s in Tysons for allegedly trespassing, pretending to be an employee and assaulting a police officer.
The incident occurred around 10:15 p.m. last Friday (July 5) at 8111 Leesburg Pike.
Police said an employee reported that a man was trespassing, and police discovered that he falsely claimed to be an employee.
“The man refused to leave, resisted arrest and assaulted an officer,” according to the police report.
Police arrested and charged Hakeem Linkins of no fixed address with resisting arrest, trespassing and assault on a law enforcement officer. He was held without bond.
In a separate incident, police are investigating grand larceny at the Safeway (1688 Anderson Road) in McLean near Tysons on Saturday (July 6).
Around 2 a.m., three men entered the store, walked around for a few minutes and then one of the men made a small purchase that distracted the clerk, while the two other men removed cash register drawers, police said.
“All three men, described as black and in their 20s, ran out of the store, entered cars and drove away,” according to the police report.

The Vienna Police Department is looking for whoever stole wallets from the Westwood Country Club.
“Two teens reported that someone took money from their wallets while they were inside at the pool,” police said.
The incident occurred between 2-6 p.m. last Monday (July 1) at 800 E. Maple Avenue.

Updated at 5:35 p.m. — In Falls Church, S. Oak Street remains closed because the bridge’s surface was damaged by the rain and Hillwood Avenue did not have a sinkhole, but the road buckled from the rain. A temporary fix is in place for the avenue, and a permanent fix will be made this week.

Earlier: Parts of Maple Avenue in the Town of Vienna and several roads around the Tysons area are closed this morning as flooding continues around Fairfax County.
The Town of Vienna tweeted shortly after 10 a.m. that Maple Avenue is closed between East Street and Beulah Road due to flooding.
Westbound Arlington Blvd (Route 50) just past Prosperity Avenue is closed due to flooding. Police told Tysons Reporter that they don’t have enough police to block the other side of the street, which also appears flooded.
Around 10:35 p.m., police said that all of the units in the county were currently deployed.
