Mosaic Skateland is set to open on June 25 on Merrifield Center Town Drive, between the Barnes & Noble and Mexican restaurant Urbano and across from Bloomie’s. It will run through the entire summer, until September 25.

The park will launch a complete slate of family-friendly entertainment next week for the first full Children’s Theatre-in-the-Woods season of the pandemic. The 2020 season was canceled, along with the rest of Wolf Trap’s summer programming that year, and last year’s lineup was limited to just six performances.

Vaccines for kids under 5 developed by Moderna and Pfizer appear to be safe and effective, according to analyses by federal health officials that the Food and Drug Administration released on June 10 and yesterday (Sunday).

Tysons Park Place owner B.F. Saul Company garnered the Fairfax County Planning Commission’s support on Wednesday (June 8) for its proposal to allow a 175-foot-tall, “trophy-class” office building in place of the 135-foot-tall building that has stood at 7926 Jones Branch Drive since 1975.

Big Screen on the Green
Each month, the town hosts an outdoor movie screening at 8:30 p.m. There’s free water and popcorn while supplies last. The movie is set up on the town green. Bring your own chairs, blanket, picnic etc.
Chillin’ on Church
Vienna’s version of a block party, held on Church Street and includes food, beer, wine and family friendly activities, which starts at 6:30 p.m.

Kids on the Green

Don’t forget: The Town of Vienna has it’s own fireworks show! Held at Yeonas Park (where the little league fields are) on Friday, July 1 at 8 p.m. The event will have live music, games, food and drinks, and the fireworks start at dark. The United States Navy Concert Band will play before the 20 minute fireworks show. Bring blanks and lawn chairs, but remember chairs are not permitted on the baseball fields (there are bleachers and a paved path for chairs).
