Meet Major Z/Master Bruce, Tysons’ latest Pet of the Week. This sweet boy is very athletic but also loves cuddling up to you in bed each night (it’s hard to say no to those puppy dog eyes!).
Here’s what his friends at Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation had to say about him:
Major Z/Master Bruce is a handsome, confident puppy by day and vigilante by night. In the weeks he has been with his foster, he has grown from being a puppy with explosive energy to the guardian of the house. He is fast and extremely athletic and has learned to catch a frisbee and balls with ease.
He loves his walks and is an explorer at heart. With big energy comes a bigger appetite, and Bruce is treat motivated and has learned commands like fetch, NO!, stay, sit and stand in a matter of weeks.
He will sleep on his bed, but every night he will ask you if he can climb yours and cuddle beside you. You can’t say no to him, because he has really mastered the puppy eyes weapon. He is overjoyed to see his foster dad every day when he returns home from the office, shaking with happiness and a wagging tail!
He is house-trained and only relieves himself outside when we are on the morning and evening walks daily. He did have a tendency to chew on his bed and playfully shred it, but that has changed with the right amount of toys and training.
From Bruce’s foster: ‘I feel really bad letting him go right when I’m able to converse with him and he tries to communicate with me. He has really left his paw mark in my heart. I’m sure he will be an amazing guardian to whatever lucky family he is destined to. It’s been an amazing journey with Bruce, and I will miss him with all my heart.’
Are you and Bruce the perfect match?

Meet two of the “Sweet as Pie” kittens from 4Paws, Rhubarb and Apple.
Here’s what the 4Paws Rescue Team had to say about this duo:
Meet Rhubarb, one of our “Sweet as Pie” kittens! He is a friendly Siamese mix kitten. He was found under a dusty barn and he is learning the ropes of being an indoor kitty with his brother Apple, who he is bonded to and needs to be adopted with.
He loves pets, and is affectionate with his human fosters and brother. Though he may not be a lap cat, he loves to either snuggle up next to you or hold your hand. You may also find him hugging his brother while napping.
Meet Apple! This chocolate tabby kitten… quickly bonded with a slightly older foster kitten named Rhubarb and has become his shadow.
Rhubarb is teaching timid Apple that humans aren’t so bad. Apple is warming up to playing with all the toys he can get his little kitty paws on, and doesn’t mind head scratches and belly rubs when he’s sleepy. His brother, Rhubarb, must be close by or he gets anxious. We hope with lots of love and Rhubarb’s guiding paws, this playful kitten will come out of his shell quicker.
The kittens would do best in a quiet home or in a home that realizes they need to acclimate at a slower pace. They are being housed with older children right now.
Are you, Rhubarb and Apple the perfect match?

The most recent Pet of the Week is Tater Tot, a special needs senior chihuahua whose owner passed away. She’s a sweet lady who’s looking for a comfy home (and lap).
Here’s what her friends at Paws and Claws New England had to say about her:
Meet Tater Tot! She is a sweet senior chihuahua who is looking for a special home to share her cute self with! She is 10-11 years old and weighs in at 7.5 pounds. She came into rescue when she was surrendered to our rescue after her owner passed away and the family did not want to assume her care. While in her loving foster home, she has had her medical needs addressed and given lots of TLC. She is now ready for the magic of her very own forever home!
Tater Tot’s foster mom says she is a super sweet little lady who loves to be in a lap! She enjoys everyone she meets and thrives on attention. She gets particularly excited when its time to eat or someone comes over. I am sure she thinks they are there to pet her — lol! We have designated Tater Tot as special needs as she has some mobility issues and a cardiac condition. Both are treated with daily medications, and she is very stable, enjoying her life and the love of her humans. Screened applicants will get thorough information on her medical issues/meds, etc.
Tater Tot is house-trained. She mostly uses the doggie door in her foster home or pads inside when necessary. She does not need to be crated but will sometimes nap in a crate with the door open. She is leashed trained with a harness and could do short walks. She is fostered with other dogs and does fine unless she is occupying a lap or a snuggle spot on the bed — then she doesn’t want the other dogs trying to nose in on her space! Cat wise, she hasn’t been exposed at her foster home but her foster mom thinks she’d do fine with good introductions. We think her best home would be a teen/adult home given her age.
Could you and Tater Tot be the perfect match? Find more information (and videos) on her Petfinder page.
