Many of the local sports teams wrapped up their seasons this weekend, except for those continuing on to playoffs. One of the best traditions of youth sports is the end-of-the-season party where the kids get to just be kids — be loud, let the parents socialize and really just enjoy a moment of happiness.
Here in Vienna we are lucky to have a lot of great options for these gatherings. Here are several of them:
Team Meals
Remember to call the location a few days in advance and let them know you’re coming!
- Vienna Inn is a local favorite, especially with its outdoor tent, which makes the Covid factor a little easier to manage.
- Foster’s Grille is a great (air-conditioned!) option. They usually set up a long table for the kids with booths or tables nearby for the parents. They also have a mini arcade, which is always fun for the kids if you bring cash.
- For cool treats, head to Dairy Queen, Rita’s, Ben & Jerry’s, or Kiln & Co.
Delivery
Many of the local fields have pavilions available for reservation through Fairfax County. For example, at Nottoway Park, there are multiple covered pavilions you can reserve after games.
If you reserve a pavilion, you can always get food delivered, like pizza, Rita’s or Ben & Jerry’s, to name a few options.
Also, don’t forget to thank your coaches. Many are parent volunteers who give up a lot of time to coach these kids.
