Bring your family or friends and join us on Fridays during Lent for our Soup Suppers, which include meatless soups, noodles, bread, community and fellowship.

The suppers begin March 8th and continue on Fridays through April 5th from 5:30-7 p.m. in the Parish Hall. Following the suppers are Confessions beginning at 7 p.m. and Stations of the Cross beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the Church.

Sightings of foxes, deer, hawks, owls and even flying squirrels have proliferated in Arlington and especially in the outer suburbs in recent years. This exhibit comprises stunning photographs taken by three local photographers illustrating this phenomenon, using a variety of equipment and ingenious techniques. Brief talks about their techniques will be given by participating photographers Robin Kent and Scott Springston. Joan McIntyre, representing Master Gardeners of Arlington and Alexandria, will discuss the value of native plants for attracting wildlife.

National Chamber Ensemble’s “Musical Adventures Through The Time Machine” Season (Time Machine included) continues on to the the Classical Period!

With it’s growing emphasis on the melody was the remarkable period where composers let their imaginations run free in a quest for balance between reason and emotion. Experience the musical era obsessed with clarity, charm, balance, form and the genius of the three masters all working in Vienna: Joseph Haydn, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Ludwig van Beethoven.

On the program: Haydn’s Piano Trio No.39 in G Major “Gypsy”, Mozart’s Sonata for Violin and Piano No. 32 in B flat Major K. 454, and Beethoven’s Piano Trio Op.70 “Ghost.”

Joining violinist/artistic director Leo Sushansky will be cellist Sean Neidlinger and pianist Carlos Cesar Rodriguez.

Enjoy NCE artists sharing stories, humor, personal perspectives on the music. The goal of the NCE is to build a sense of closeness between performers and audience that enhances the feeling of community and a deeper musical experience

The performance will be followed by a reception with the artists.

Please join Capital Harmonia as we host our 4th Annual Women’s Choral Festival on Sunday March 31, 2019.

Our choral festival occurs during Women’s History Month to honor the contributions of women for the last 100 years. We celebrate with music written by women composers about women. We are also honored to feature Linda S. Sullivan, President & CEO of ARTSFAIRFAX and Senator Jennifer Boysko who will speak at the festival.

This free concert will be held at Community of Faith United Methodist Church, 13224 Franklin Farm Road in Herndon from 4-6 p.m. Please join us and bring your family and friends.

Capital Harmonia is a non-profit organization that promotes the concerns of women through song. We perform at our non-profit partner’s events without remuneration throughout the DC area.

The Reston (VA) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated presents Money Matters 2.o — A Blue Print to Achieve Financial Wellness and Entrepreneurial Success.

We have assembled a panel of distinguished, exciting and knowledgeable finance experts to speak on the various topics. We will have two distinct tracks. The Adult Track will include strategies for investing, saving, creating, protecting and transferring wealth, along with the keys to entrepreneurship, i.e., securing funding, creating a business plan and establishing your brand.

In addition to targeting adults, we’ve again expanded our audience to include teens and young adults ages 13-20 years old. The Youth and Teens Track will be centered around the fundamentals of financial literacy, insight into investing and saving, as well as tips on turning ideas and hobbies into profitable business ventures. Our objective is to begin a conversation about finance at an early age and to empower our youth to choose how they will live as they age.
