Vienna police to crack down on stop sign violations

Drivers who roll through stop signs aren’t going to be tolerated in the Town of Vienna.

Starting today (Wednesday), the Vienna Police Department has launched a new traffic safety campaign with a particular focus on stop sign violations, citing “a noticeable increase” in people failing to come to a complete halt at intersections.

From the news release:

Officers will be out in force to ticket and remind drivers that when reaching a stop sign, a solid or flashing red light must come to a complete stop before entering the crosswalk, the intersection, or the stop line. Under certain circumstances, a police officer may cite a stop sign violation as reckless driving.
